Kyle Adam, Vernon, BC, Chair
Kyle graduated with his honors BA from McMaster University in 2007. He's currently the director of Adam Solutions Ltd. which is in partnership with Pacific Apex Structures, Inc., a turnkey provider in the construction segment. Kyle has his certification in thermography, geothermal design, and has his Price 2 Project Management designation. He has a wide background in technology and IT and brings a strong business background to the Board.
In November 2010, Kyle traveled to Haiti on a vision trip where he learned of the struglles Haiti was experiencing and knew in his heart that it was his duty to help any way he could. Upon his approval of the board, he used his computer skills working to create our web page and bringing WPH to the world of social media. He quickly assumed additional responsibilities, helping with fundraising and organizing many administrative details. He became board chair in 2013.
Ginny Baynes, Portland, OR, Secretary
Throughout her life, Ginny has been involved in community service, whether down the block or around the world. As secretary of the Water Project for Haiti Board of Directors, she is committed to helping provide clean water to all people, starting with the people of Haiti.
Ginny has a B.A. from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN, and an MBA from Portland State University, Portland, OR. She has more than 30 years of experience working in both the public and the private sector. Her public sector experience includes health care management for a local government agency and business management for a religious non-profit. Ginny has also worked in marketing and public relations for several technology companies including CDC, Sequent Computer Systems and IBM. In 2006, Ginny developed and now manages the Anonymous Donation Program for the Pacific Northwest Transplant Bank in Oregon.
In addition to the Water Project for Haiti Board, Ginny also services on the Board of the Blanche Fischer Foundation and the Tualatin Hills Aquatics Advisory Board in Portland, OR. Ginny is an avid swimmer, a certified Master Gardener and a golden retriever lover. She and her husband, Mike, are owned by Ursa, a 7-year old rescue golden.
Bill Fausey, Columbia City, IN, Director
Bill Fausey is the newest member of the WPH Board. He has a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and has worked as a Quality Engineer for 30 years in the circuit board, automotive, and medical industries. Currently, he is a QE with DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction, a Johnson & Johnson Company.
Bill is very involved with his church and has led various men's ministries and Bible study groups for 15 years.
Bill first became interested in mission work after seeing how mission trips affected his two sons, Harrison and Ben. He's led work teams and vision teams to Borel, Haiti, for many years, and has been involved in numerous community projects. Whether it's rebuilding a mountain church, laying tile in the guesthouse, or visiting the local hospital, his team members always have a life-changing experience. He is excited to join the WPH board because he has seen first-hand the amazing things that God is doing through WPH. "Every day, lives are being saved in Haiti becasue of clean water provided by WPH's biosand water filters."
Bill enjoys gardening, fishing (especially with his dad), raising chickens and spending time with his wife of 28 years, Carol.
Marla Sheaffer, Harrisburg, PA, Treasurer
Marla Sheaffer graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Marketing, and from Indiana Wesleyan University with a Masters degree in Ministerial Education. She has over 20 years experience working in non-profit administration and church ministry.
She is currently involved with various ministries at her church including media, hospitality, event planning, decorating, and supporting her husband, Kent, who is the Pastor of Discipleship.
Marla and Kent love volunteering and serve as Senior High Youth Camp Directors at Camp YoLiJWa in Newville, PA. They are responsible for planning and executing a week-long program for up to 200 teenagers. She also serves on the Allocations Panel for the United Way of the Capital Region annually and is Board Treasurer at Doubling Gap Center.
Marla developed an interest in Water Project for Haiti when friends Bim and Tim Arthun answered the call to move to Haiti and work with the organization. Her goal is to help expand the interest and support of Water Project in the US and someday visit the project site in Haiti.
Shantelle Clarke, Oahu, HI, Director
Shantelle has been in the water and wastewater industry for over 15 years. After graduating from the Water Quality Technology program in Kelowna she grew her career working at facilities across BC. She has achieved the highest certification for both Wastewater Treatment and Water Distribution; she is also a registered Scientific Technologist. When her career got to the point where she felt she needed to give back and when the opportunity knocked to be a part of Water Project for Haiti she jumped. Being a Board Member has allowed her to see things from another perspective and provide technical advice if/when necessary.
She moved to Hawaii in 2015 and loves paddling outrigger canoe, hiking/camping, going to the beach and all that Hawaii has to offer. She lives on the North Shore of Oahu with her dog Bourbon.
